Well...
I filed for divorce last February after agreeing terms with him. BUT, he's been extremely useless at providing the required documentation.
After a long winded process, and still not getting the requested paperwork to prove his employment claim etc, I'm cutting my losses and am just going to ask my solicitor to progress it anyway.
He can keep his money, I hope him & Paula choke on it.

Holidays are coming...
So, the playroom is having a huge overhaul to make space for whatever Santa may bring the children. The toys have got out of control.
Will hopefully get the tree today, if not, then I'll get it tomorrow.
I'm starting to feel festive :-)

Is it really possible to split amicably?
When you reach that moment when you realise that there's no going back, how can you do it without creating further upset? Is it possible?
It has come to that point where I can't envisage coming out of this separation. I've tried, but every time I think to myself "maybe I can work this out" something will happen that makes me think "thank fuck that we separated". The 'something' is usually along the lines of a little white lie told to me (I no longer have trust), an irresponsible financial decision (why is he opening another credit card when he is useless with money management? - this wouldn't bother me, but it affects my credit report as I'm associated with him due to a joint mortgage), or most commonly noticed is the emotional blackmail (which has actually been going on for years, I just never noticed until the separation) which I don't allow anymore.
Most of the time we can discuss things amicably, such as sorting out the financial issues like splitting assets & child access arrangements (which are extremely open at the moment). Unfortunately, most of the time it is amicable because he thinks we will, someday, repair our relationship & our marriage will miraculously become rosy. If I ever approach these subjects during moments when there is realisation that it is irreparable, the toys get thrown out of the pram.
But I can't go on like this. I need to move on. And if that means that I have to deal with ridiculous behaviour/attitude, or pay more for a solicitor's time because he won't be amicable, then that's the way it will have to be. It will have to get worse before it can get better.
At the moment, he realises that it is a lot easier (and cheaper) for us to reach a mutual agreement & get it signed legally to take off all the pressure & tension. But that's the problem, in a few days time he may kick off. It's one way or the other, and if I end up with a huge debt and/or solicitors bill, then so be it. Unlike him, I have financial management skills & I will dig myself out, but I am a compassionate person & I don't want to see him go down, so I'm hoping for his sake as much as mine that he will be able to do this amicably. I don't want to screw him over. Far from it. I want him to have his equal share (which, when taking his debts into consideration, will end up with me paying his debts in lieu of any equity from assets), because I have a conscience & I want a clean break as well as a clean conscience.
Here's hoping that something will click, and we can save legal fees by being agreeable.

My kids went back to school/nursery today. Looked like loads of parents had relief on their face :-D
My house is calm once more. The neighbours must be throwing their own party in celebration!
Not long until the holiday now & I have everything in place ready for it, flight tickets, park tickets, money, ESTA's, parking etc.
I might have to put some pictures in this blog to dress it up a bit.
Here's one to start (from the holiday in 2007):
The Epcot ball is magnificent.

When do the kids go back to school? I'm trying my best to keep them entertained, I really am, but they seem attracted to my office. My neighbours must be sick of me shouting "get out of my office now" when I can hear them bumbling about in there. I've tried to keep out of there myself to spend time with them, oh well.
Will be popping off to Killerton House later. Because trying to keep them under control in a wide open public space is far more fun than trying to keep them in control at home.
On a separate topic, I forgot to mention that my daughter *finally* received her Statement of Educational Needs just before the school closed for the summer, so that's all set for the new school year in September.
Not long until our Disney World trip. YAY!!! (I think I'm marginally more excited than my kids)

Updates...
I've just realised that I don't think I mentioned any update on H. So here it is: She was discharged from mental health services in Autumn last year, so there will be no more contact with the probation service. She can do as she pleases, she can go wherever she likes, she can visit Lily's grave as often as she wishes. She can do all of that without the probation service needing to by notified.
In one way, at least there won't be any letters on updates, which always ruined my day. On the other hand, it means that the possibility of seeing her is higher, which ruins every grave visit. Mark is too ill to confront this, and I don't have legal stance really to take out an injunction, and the longer you wait, the least likely it is that a judge will grant an injunction. The other option is to remove Lily's grave, but she has been resting there since early 2006, so to disturb her after 7 years just doesn't seem right.
And to update on my daughter, the council have now decided that they will assess her for a statement. So hurdle number one has been jumped, now for hurdle 2: actually getting a statement (one that's funded too).
The sad thing is, if she was in a foster home or something similar, she would have had the help by now, but because she is in a relatively stable home (I say relatively due to the fact that her parents aren't together at this time) they just drag their feet.
All this fighting for her has made me so mentally exhausted. Every time I actually receive some form of help along the way, I mentally cry - as in I don't shed any tears, but I get the feelings that you get when you cry. As part of the assessment, she has to have an appointment with a paediatrician. This isn't an official diagnosis appointment, more of a basic assessment. I have been asking for 3 years to have a diagnosis, and finally she is getting seen in some capacity by someone. If I had been standing at the time of reading the letter my knees would have buckled. I'm hoping that the basic assessment will lead to a formal diagnosis appointment, which is usually a few hours.
Trying to get support for someone with a disability that isn't physically obvious is hard work, and something needs to be done about it. If she had been born without a leg, she would have been seen by doctors from birth and would have had some sort of aid within a reasonable amount of time. It should be the same for those with 'invisible' disabilities.

I wish I had something exciting to write, but unfortunately I don't.
All I can comment on is that it's quite cold here, and there's a leak in my car so I'll need to investigate where it's coming from.
My son had his first haircut this week, and now he looks more like a little boy than a baby, well he IS 2 1/2 years old I suppose. :-(
My daughter had her first Brownies meeting last night and she loved it. She really enjoyed Rainbows, so I knew she would love Brownies.
Well, have to go, Seth is pestering me to play with the hand puppets, I guess my silly animal noises are just too hard to resist.

It's Saturday!
Well I don't know about you, but where the hell has this week (and this year) gone???
I'm beginning to think that I've bitten off more than I can chew, but in reality it's because I've not organised myself properly this week (and because I keep getting pestered by my 2 year old due to the fact that Mark is feeling unwell at the moment). Seriously considering paying for a nursery place. Once again I have put more hours into my business than I should have, so I'm revisiting my outlook calendar & my diary to book in my business time and my study time - no checking of emails unless it's booked in.
My daughter went to a birthday party today which doesn't happen very often due to the fact that she doesn't build or retain friendships very easily. That's another thing that Mark was meant to be controlling, but I ended up being the taxi so cue a wasted 2 hours of study time.
Anyway, enough of my jabbering, I need to work on my assignment for a couple of hours so that I can watch Rylan Clark's entertainment tonight, I'll sky+ it so that I can fast forward through the other (boring) acts.

I'm still here.
Well, that's sure to piss some people off, I live to see another day!
Quite a lot has changed since my last post. Hubby and I have separated, which happened only a few days after my last post actually. Made me feel really ill at first, but I'm over it now. We're getting on well at the moment, so we'll see if we can make it work or not, but for the time being I'm enjoying being able to do my own thing, and watch what I want to watch without someone throwing their toys out of the pram.
Talking about watching TV...I am LOVING Rylan Clark on The X Factor. No more boring warblings from people, I can now have proper entertainment on a Saturday night. And the fact that he can actually sing OK when standing still, means that he'll be fine to record in a studio without needing loads of correction.
Trying to get the statement for my daughter (who is 7 tomorrow) is proving difficult, like everything else. I requested an assessment for a statement, and had that refused so far. When will someone help my child??? All is not lost though, she is seen by an Educational Psychologist (who is going to refer her to the neurodevelopmental team - a 12-18 month wait), and we see the Interaction & Communication team (County Autism Team) at the regular TAC (Team Around Child) meetings, so at least that's something.
On other notes...It's the 8th anniversary of Lily's death on Monday (it was her 15th birthday on rememberance Sunday), obviously it isn't as raw as it used to be, but she has left a space that can never be filled...My son has his surgery booked in for next Thursday, so I have that to contend with aswell...:-s.
So there's the gist of my life 'as it happens'. I will endeavour to update this more regularly but I'm a busy bee.

So much for 'my life, as it happens'. More like 'my life, then blog about it after 6 months or so'.
I haven't even read it to refresh my memory yet, so I'm writing 'blind' so to speak.
Well, I'm currently studying 90 credits worth this year (equivalent to 3/4 full-time study, and totals around 35 hours a week). I must be off my trolley! To add to that, The OU have moved their maths modules to all start in October, instead of having a mix of Oct and Feb starts, so I have to kiss goodbye to my 3-month break this year and continue right through from this Feb to next June. Aarrgghh!
I'm also busy with trying to get a 'statement' for my daughter's needs at school.
And on top of that, my hubby's work have taken action (suspended him) and asked for a medical report to make sure he's fit to work with them. This all stems from false allegations from 2 members of staff (which have both told my hubby that they have their own mental illnesses - 1 has anxiety, the other has depression), but I don't think that the company know they have these illnesses, whereas my hubby has always been honest about his. So, have the company looked into to truth? NOOOOO. They have taken the allegations as truth (as made obvious by one of their questions to the therapist in their request for a report) and acted accordingly. If they had actually done some investigating, and asked me (as I'm the only person who knows the details of hubby's illness, along with his therapist) about the truth, they would have easily seen that the girls have fabricated it, as I can disprove the bits I've seen said so far (he should've been given copies of the full discussion forms from both, but he hasn't).
So, get ready for the letter from our solicitor. And any more crap will result in a discrimination claim.
Oh I feel much better for that little rant.
Onwards and upwards.
I have an exam in less than 3 weeks, an assignment due a couple of days before it, and another assignment due the week after it.
All study & no play makes SJB a geek.

Not AWOL
I'm still here. Just crazy busy right now.
My current 'list' of duties:
Running a household, including 2 kids.
Deep into my degree now.
Working part-time in the evenings Mon-Fri.
Trying to have family days out at weekends.
I'm spinning so many plates that I don't remember to blog, or have time for that matter, so my posts are few and far between!
So, update on my studies so far: I've completed enough courses to get my Certificate in Mathematics. Working towards my Diploma in Statistics and my BSc in Mathematics and Statistics.
Having a few issues with hubby at the moment, not in our marriage, rather that he is having issues with his depression and his work at the moment. One asshole manager to be precise. He's nit-picked for the last few months and unfortunately Mark has been unable to cope with the constant barrage, so he's been signed off for 2 weeks and is now on stronger anti-depressants. If I see that twat of a man (not my hubby obviously lol) I will have a few choice words to say.
Marena seems to be improving, I think the routine of year 1 is agreeing with her. Crap, that's just reminded me that she has homework to do for Monday.
Well, better continue with my assignment which is due in on Wednesday, last one for this module! Only have the exam in October to do then I'll have a couple of month's break before the next modules start, not that I'll get to rest as I have other things to do.

Killerton & A La Ronde
We went to Killerton house on Sunday, and A La Ronde yesterday. Both houses were beautiful but very different. Killerton was big and had WW2 stuff upon entering, it's set on 6400 acres of land and is the largest property owned by the National Trust. A La Ronde was small but ingeniously designed by the cousins that lived there, the amount of time it would have taken them to collect all the shells on display and in the gallery is impressive in its own right, let alone the time it would have taken to collect all the feathers to make the frieze in the drawing room. Truly astounding.
Will be studying over the next two days, then we'll go somewhere on Sunday. Not sure where yet, but will probably be Arlington Court.

We went to Haldon Forest on Sunday to do the Discovery Trail. We really enjoyed it, it was only a 1.5 mile walk but it was just nice to get out of the house together. We'll definitely go again at some point and Mark would like to get a back harness to carry Seth in so that we can do the harder trails as they aren't suitable for pushchairs.
I don't know where we'll be going this Sunday but we want to use our National Trust membership as a few of the local places start opening this weekend so it'll be a NT place.
My next course starts on Saturday so I need to be super organised as I'll have 2 courses running at the same time until June.

Work, Uni, family...
It's all on my mind!
I've managed to sort out a change of working times for when I return from maternity leave, so instead of working every weekend, I will now work Mon-Fri evenings (5-9). It works out much better because Mark wouldn't be able to look after both children for long periods of time due to his depression, and even I find it difficult so there's no way he would cope. Seth is still very demanding of our time, what with being so young, and Marena is somewhere on the Autism Spectrum so it can be difficult to deal with when she's having an episode whilst Seth is crying for something, so it's best that Mark isn't left for long on his own, and as the kids are in bed by 7ish, he only has two hours before he gets peace and quiet.
Marena's teacher is trying to sort out a visit from the educational psychologist to get a diagnosis so that they can get help in the classroom for Marena, but she knows it's autism due to the behaviours that Marena exhibits. It's very frustrating waiting for an 'official' declaration of Marena's issues, but there are loads of people out there with autism who haven't been diagnosed with it, so what's a girl to do? Only problem is that the (add expletives here) Conservatives have cut funding, by the time Marena is diagnosed, there may not be any help for her.
My current course is going OK, and I start another course on 12th Feb. I've had the results from the last course I did which ended in Oct '10, I got 99 on my examinable score, and 98 on my overall score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't get that high a score from this course because with my previous TMA I came down with the 'flu the weekend before it was due so I couldn't do the Mathcad work which was the only thing I had left to do, thus I ended up getting 90 which is my lowest score on any of my TMA's (I could've got 97 if the Mathcad had been done and got full marks). I know there's a lot of people out there who would be very happy with a 90, and it is a fantastic score, but my scores have been 97 and above so it was a bit disappointing, I need to get used to it though as I'm only doing level 1 courses at the moment, my next one is the first of the level 2's and I can't expect to get extremely high marks as it gets more complex can I?
So...even though my life is a little 'busy' at the moment i joined Slimming World last Thursday morning. I was going to rejoin WeightWatchers when Seth reached 6 months old (I had to stop when I was pregnant) but was extremely disappointed to see they only have the points plan now, and in all honesty, when I get to my goal weight I can't imagine counting points for the rest of my life! So I went along to a Slimming World meeting instead, and I'm extremely happy with it, minimal counting and measuring, just eating lots of healthy food and it's much more realistic in a long-term view as I won't have to write everything down.
Anyway, that's enough for now, I must get on with the day!

Seth was seen by the consultant last Friday, and the fluid has gone down slightly. There's still a lot there but the consultant wants to see him again in April to see of it has drained by then but for the moment it looks like surgery won't be needed.
Thank-you Lily for looking out for your baby brother, we miss you so much sweetheart. It was your 13th birthday last Thursday, daddy found it very hard because it would've been your first day as a teenager. The candles we burned for you weren't very good were they? We'll buy some better ones next year. The days are exactly the same as 6 years ago, your 7th birthday was on the Thursday 11th, and you died on Friday 26th which is also next week. I can't write anymore at the moment as I'm getting upset.

Well, I'm on my second course now with the OU which is the first module of the degree (the previous course I completed adds to my points, but isn't a course named on the degree, it's a free-choice).
Life is a little hectic to say the least! Our son was born on 29/07/10 which is my auntie Ness' birthday, so my mom can have some joy on what would have been a very black day. It's harder with 2 kids, and the uni work too, and I haven't had to factor in work yet of which my return date from maternity leave is in March. It's looming fast and I feel a little emotional about it as I'm concerned about how I'm going to continue breastfeeding but we'll work it out.
Seth (our son) has me worried at the moment. The Dr saw he had a build up of fluid in his scrotum at his 8 week check, and requested to see him again 2 weeks later. The appointment rolled on and the fluid still hadn't drained itself, and had got a little worse, so we've had to make an appointment to see a consultant with regards to surgery. I'm absolutely terrified, I've had so many tearful moments. I'm scared that Seth won't wake up from General Anaesthetic. I'm jumping ahead so much, we haven't even had the consultant appointment yet but I can't help it! Could lightning actually strike twice?

Long time, no write
I haven't written in here for 6 months!
My OU course is going really well, and I'm getting really good scores for my iCMA's and TMA's.
Our baby (which is a boy!) is due in 18 days time. The time has flown by, but I suppose it's because I've had loads of things to do, especially as I'm starting an assignment just after the previous one is finished and posted (not to mention the iCMA's in between)!
My cousin who was 4 weeks ahead of me in pregnancy had a baby girl on the 26th June.
Life is ticking along nicely at the moment.

A New Year!
My OU course starts in just 4 weeks time. Getting excited now! I'm going to have to work really hard over these next few months to get ahead of the course as our baby is due at the end of July so I won't be able to do much for the first few weeks after it's born.
So this year is going to be a busy one, that's for sure.

Yesterday...
Monday 14th December was the day when my auntie 'Ness died. My step-dad rang me at about 8am to let me know. The funeral is next Tuesday, but I'm not going to be able to go because there isn't any way that my mother-in-law would be able to look after Marena for the whole day, and seeing as the travel alone would be about 7 hours there and back, it's not possible. I feel terrible that I don't get to say a last goodbye.
It's the only thing I can think about at the moment.
